There’s something magical about an evening of shared plates—and no shared meal is more iconic than Spanish tapas. In this vibrant, Taste of Spain hands-on cookery class, you’ll explore the rich and diverse world of Spanish cuisine. Guided by our expert chef, you’ll learn how to create a selection of classic Spanish tapas and mains that are perfect for entertaining or recreating at home.
You’ll begin by crafting beautifully crisp Croquettes with Manchego and Jamón—rich, creamy, and perfectly golden. Next up is Callos, a hearty and traditional Spanish stew, slow-cooked to develop deep, warming flavours. You’ll then prepare Grilled Sardines with Lemon, Rocket and Oregano—a vibrant coastal dish that brings the Mediterranean to your plate. The class also includes classic Empanada Gallegas, filled with savoury goodness and wrapped in flaky pastry, and Bacalao with Garlic Flatbreads, combining salt cod with bold garlic for a rustic, flavour-packed finish.
You’ll start the day with a welcoming coffee and chat with the chef before heading into the kitchen for live demonstrations. Then it’s time to get hands-on—preparing a variety of authentic dishes under expert guidance.
We believe great cooking is about mastering techniques, not just following recipes. You’ll work alongside fellow food lovers in a fun, relaxed environment designed to build your skills and confidence. Some preparation may be done in advance to help maximise your hands-on time during the class.
Recipe printouts aren’t provided on the day so that you can stay focused on the experience—but don’t worry, you’ll receive a full recipe pack by email after the class. Our chefs are also always on hand to answer your questions during and after your session.
There will be a short break for lunch where you’ll head to the dining room to enjoy your culinary creations with a glass of wine or a soft drink.
If you’d like to take any food home with you, please bring your own containers. Please note – we are unable to accept responsibility or liability for food taken out of the cookery school.
