I feel that I have been cooking all my life. It all started when Dad came home with a gun and two ferrets. I was barely 6 years of age. Dad announced that we could forage, catch, prepare, cook and eat our own food. Today this seems really quiet trendy! But I can assure you, it was not then! My two brothers did not relish the thought at all, yet I found this to be the start of a fantastic childhood adventure.

By the time I was 7 years of age I would stand on a stool and prepare all the wonderful foraged and caught food.

Through my life, I have been lucky enough to cook in many countries of the world, experiencing many different cuisines, both professionally and for pleasure. I spent time in Melbourne with internationally acclaimed and award winning Australian chef, Dietmer Sawyere, who has been a driving force behind the evolution of Australian restaurants and cuisine since arriving in Melbourne in late 1988. I have also cooked for many “high profile” business leaders and “stars” in places like Gstaad, Switzerland as well as at Christmas parties in Washington DC, often complete with jet lag! I have even cooked on Movie Location sets ... what an adventure that was! But I also enjoy simply cooking up "Smiles" for Charity Events such as Click Sargent, the Children’s Cancer Charity.

Being a dedicated foodie and a “people person” I have loved every minute and have a wealth of wonderful memories and some extraordinary tales!

Sarawak MidinI have Foodie memories of eating fern fronds in Sarawak with the local tribal people, catching fish at two in the morning on Goan beaches and wandering around in the fantastic fish market of Venice. I’ve picked up so many ideas from so many cultures on my travels which I love sharing with the foodie friends I meet.

I have attended a stage at the Famous Le Manoir Aux Quat' Saisons at Great Milton in Oxfordshire and also contributed a regular foodie article in Concept for Living (an interior design magazine).

One of my more recent ventures was in front of the camera so that can you now see me cooking for the National Farmers Union local food Promotions on UTube ...

I recently became the Chef ambassador for Warrington Market. That might sound a bit pompous but we truly need to celebrating the wealth of high quality local produce on sale there. You can also hear my own brand of light hearted Cheffie humour broadcasting on local radio, Warrington FM.

I have taught cooking at local colleges and frequently organise celebrity chef evenings and some great fun foodie events locally.

My latest exciting venture is as Chef Director of the new and truly amazing Cheshire Cookery School in Altrincham, which is about to open its doors ... watch out in these pages for more about the Grand Opening and some of the amazing Courses we have planned.

Summary
Life is for enjoying and the more we smile the more the sun shines. Cook and be happy, enjoy every moment even when the
heat is on!
